Joseph Gordon
Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative
I am dedicated to helping individuals, families, businesses, and organizations create comprehensive financial roadmaps. My approach is client-focused, developing strategies tailored to each person’s unique goals and financial needs.
After a successful 15-year career in corporate finance with a Fortune 100 company, I pursued my lifelong passion for personal financial advising. In 2009, I joined Diversified Asset Planners, Inc., a respected financial services firm serving clients since 1987. In January 2026, I opened a standalone office for J. Gordon Financial Services, allowing us to provide a more personalized, client-centered experience while continuing to deliver trusted financial guidance. I hold a FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses and offer a full range of solutions, including life, health, accident, disability, and long-term care insurance.
With extensive experience in financial analysis, planning, mergers and acquisitions, budgeting, and leadership, I bring a global perspective to helping clients navigate their financial journey. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Finance with an Economics minor from Penn State University, graduating with honors in 1994, and a Master of Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Bucknell University.
Community Involvement
I am actively engaged in the community and passionate about supporting local organizations:
- Board Member, Penn State Quarterback Club (President, 2017–2019)
- Board Member, Penn State All-Sports Museum
- Treasurer and Board Member, Centre Hills Country Club
- Adjunct Instructor of Economics, St. Francis University
I also enjoy raising funds and volunteering for charities, including Multiple Sclerosis, Type 1 Diabetes, and The Ruffed Grouse Society.
Personal Life
Outside of work, I treasure time with my wife, Stephanie (married in May 1996). Our daughters, Jessica and Jacqui, are now pursuing their own paths, and we enjoy supporting them from afar. I love spending time outdoors, either golfing, fishing, or enjoying other activities that allow me to relax and recharge.

As Director of Client Relations and Business Development at J. Gordon Financial Services, my focus is on enhancing client experience by connecting clients with our comprehensive financial planning services. I strive to make every interaction informative, engaging, and personalized.
With over 20 years of sales and business development experience across the aluminum and software industries, I bring a strong foundation of professional expertise to support your financial journey. I manage content creation, including newsletters, blogs, and social media, ensuring clients receive timely, relatable, and enjoyable insights. I also lead initiatives in lead generation, advertising, and business development, building relationships and creating opportunities for both new and existing clients.
Personal Life
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors—camping, boating, and golfing are some of my favorite activities. I treasure time with family and friends, creating lasting memories. Above all, I enjoy quality time with my husband, Joe, and supporting our two grown daughters as they pursue their own paths.
Jacqueline Gordon
Media Marketing and Video Specialist
Jacqueline Gordon (Jacqui) is a communications professional with a strong background in media, event operations, and relationship management. She is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University’s Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, where she earned her degree in Telecommunications and Media Industries.
Jacqui brings hands-on experience from high-level, fast-paced environments including Penn State Football, the Washington Commanders, and is currently a golf pro-shop assistant at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C. Across these roles, she has supported premium client experiences, coordinated complex logistics, and worked closely with diverse teams to deliver seamless operations. Her experience engaging VIP guests, managing communications, and supporting marketing and events has sharpened her ability to connect with people and communicate clearly under pressure.
At J. Gordon Financial Services, Jacqui supports the marketing team and assists with social media content and video creation. She enjoys helping translate financial concepts into clear, relatable messages and contributing to content that educates and connects with the community.
Outside of work, Jacqui enjoys staying active through golf, skiing, and fitness, and brings that same energy and enthusiasm to everything she does.
Jessica Gordon
Media Marketing and Video Specialist
Jessica brings creativity, professionalism, and hands-on experience to her role as Media Marketing and Video Specialist at J. Gordon Financial Services. A recent graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Telecommunications and a minor in Entrepreneurship, she has a strong foundation in strategic communication and digital content creation.
Her experience includes serving as a social media intern for the Penn State Quarterback Club, where she honed skills in content strategy and brand development, and her current role with J.W. Cole in Tampa, providing valuable exposure to the financial services industry and cross-functional collaboration.
Known for her energy, adaptability, and attention to detail, Jessica has built strong communication and customer service skills through professional and leadership roles. She is also an active member of Phi Beta Lambda, the university’s professional business fraternity, reflecting her dedication to teamwork and continuous growth.
Now based in Tampa, Jessica embraces the Florida lifestyle. Outside of work, she is active in her church community, enjoys golfing, hunting, and fishing, and hosts her podcast, Disciplined Habits, focusing on personal development and spiritual growth. At J. Gordon Financial Services, Jessica is passionate about bringing the firm’s story to life through engaging video and digital content.
Sue Hackett
Financial Assistant
Sue Hackett serves as the virtual assistant for J. Gordon Financial Services, providing dependable administrative support that keeps our operations organized and our client experience seamless.
Sue earned her B.S. in Finance from Indiana University and brings more than 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. She specializes in platform architecture and most recently served as a Software Development Manager, where she combined her financial expertise with a passion for technology to build innovative systems that drive efficiency and growth. Her unique blend of technical and financial knowledge strengthens our processes and enhances the service we deliver.
Sue currently resides just outside Nashville, Tennessee, where she enjoys attending sporting events and exploring the city’s vibrant live music scene.
Natalie Smithmyer
Administrative and Client Services Financial Assistant
Natalie brings a strong background in human resources, payroll, and office operations, with experience in both private industry and public education. She has managed recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee compliance, while also supporting key financial functions such as payroll and budgeting.
Known for her organization and attention to detail, Natalie plays an integral role in keeping daily operations running smoothly while providing support to both clients and team members.
Outside of the office, Natalie enjoys cheering on her children at their sporting events and spending quality time with her husband and family. She also loves hiking, kayaking, and making memories on family vacations.
